So a little while ago this really cool Mortal Kombat thing hit the internet and people went crazy for it. No one knew what it was or where it came from. Fast forward to today and the first episode of the web exclusive Mortal Kombat series is live. It’s awesome. Watch the hell out of this and show some support.
This is my wife’s new Lego Ghostbusters tattoo. It was done by the incredible Heather Maranda at Skinfinity Tattoo in Winter Haven Florida. The best Ghostbusters tattoo ever!
The second alphabet post of the day. Made by ElJeffe as a gift for his daughter this book contains some off the wall references to videogame culture and lore that even I didn’t recognize. Hit the link to check out the full book.
This is incredibly cool. Brandon Peat and his wife Emma found out one day that they were going to have a son. Being both artists, they decided on this really cool alphabet project for their son. Taking Star Wars characters and making them cute is nothing new. Doing it in such a high quality fashion is. Hit the link for Brandon’s blog and the full lineup if pictures.
Just wow. This is both incredibly geeky and ridiculously skilled at the same time. I cannot imagine having the free time required to learning to do something like this.
In speaking with PSM3, Tim Schaffer let loose with news I have damn near prayed for since completing the first game. “I’m ready to do it. I’d love to do it. It’s really a question of getting a publisher who’s interested in doing it.” I sincerely hope that some publisher reads this quote and says, “Hey, that game was fucking brilliant! Of course we shall publish the sequel. It will be glorious!” or something like that.
Psychonauts is one of those games that must be played to be fully appreciated. It is nothing short of classic in every sense of the word. It was criminally under promoted and therefore sold well below any reasonable level. It is loved by those who have played it not only for its gameplay but its writing as well. It is funny, touching, poignant, and extremely well acted. The gameplay is standard platformer fare but done brilliantly. It is innovative and clever, two words not used enough when talking about games. And it just works. Everything just hits on every level. You owe it to yourself to find this game through whatever means you have available and give it a go. PS2 or Xbox really makes no difference here. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Things like this make me happy to be alive. Star Wars is awesome. Chicks with tattoos are awesome. Chicks with tattoos wearing R2D2 bathing suits are amazing! Really, what more do you want? Full res version hosted on geekologie here.

Among the earlier rumors of Sally Field being cast as May Parker in the upcoming Spiderman reboot, another bit of info has dropped. According to rumors and rumors only at this point, Marc Webb is looking to reteam with his 500 Days of Summer star Zooey Deschanel.
Apparently she is being considered for the role of Betty Brant, secretary at The Daily Bugle and played rather well by Elizabeth Banks in the Sam Raimi films. I make no secret of my love for Zooey. She is just fantastic. In fact, the first movie my wife and I ever saw together was the brilliant Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I feel in love with Zooey that night. Combining her with my favorite hero might be too much to take.
